Create an itinerary including Jameson Distillery Bow St.
Have some history with your Irish coffee at Jameson Distillery Bow St., which provides guided tours and tutored tastings of its best-selling whiskey. The distillery closed for business in 1971 and the building now houses a visitor center and bar, located right above the original fermentation vats, which you can still see through the glass floor of the atrium. Guided tours explain the history of Irish whiskey through a series of reconstructed scenes from the old distillery, as well as through several exhibit areas displaying all of the main stages of traditional whiskeymaking. If the tour's complimentary glass just doesn't hit the spot, drop by the second-floor restaurant, where you can take the next drink with a gourmet meal. Make Jameson Distillery Bow St. a centerpiece of your Dublin vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Dublin online vacation planner.

  • Had such an amazing time at the Jameson distillery bow street. This is a perfect place for a date night in Dublin or even a family/friends outing. We went for a cocktail making class and it was amazing. Our guide was super friendly, and had an amazing knowledge about Jameson in general - from production to distribution. The class was super fun, it lasts for an hour and you get to make two cocktails and taste a shot of Jameson whiskey. They also give you a third cocktail by the end of the class, so be prepared to be a bit drunk by the end of the hour. The class was 50 euro per person, which is very decent as you get 3 cocktails in the price! There are many other glasses and tours as well at the distillery and we will definitely come back again.
  • I would 100% recommend the cask draw experience - delicious 18 year old cask strength whiskey in a lovely aromatic environment. Katie was a charming and informative host. The splosh and gurgle of the distillers dog was a delight. I don't think I'd recommend the tour however. Our guide was great but it all felt a bit rushed and there wasn't enough time to linger and it all felt a bit constructed. It didn't feel that deep or engaging despite our guides best efforts. The whiskey tasting section was nice but the selection felt geared towards shifting product rather than a really distinctive tasting experience. I'm a whiskey enthusiast not an expert but there wasn't enough contrast between the whiskeys being tasted. You could buy the whiskeys as you exit through the gift shop though... You do get a good couple of drams for your ticket fee so there's good value in that. On balance though I'd recommend you get the cask draw for €10, buy a drink in the bar and go to the Guinness storehouse for the afternoon and enjoy the sunset in the gravity bar.
  • We loved this tour. It was interactive, engaging and informative. We did the Guinness tour as well and found that one to be a bit of a money grab as it was primarily self guided. I’m not a whiskey drinker and enjoyed this tour anyway. A lot of pride from the folks who are employed by Jameson. You can tell it’s a well managed organization and they must treat their people well as everyone was passionate about their job and pleasant to ask questions to. The tour and tasting were well thought out. It exceeded my expectations. I would do it again next time I return.
  • I highly recommend visiting Jameson, but especially taking one of their classes as visiting here ended up being one of my highlights of our whole trip!! My sister and I did the whiskey cocktail making class and our instructor, Dan, was utterly PHENOMENAL!!! I feel like we got so so lucky to have him so if you can request him please do because he is what made our experience so memorable and fun! It’s nice because when you arrive, the whole set up is ready for you and then your instructor goes through fun facts, details, and explanations of how to make three popular drinks (a whiskey punch, a whiskey sour, and an old fashioned). Dan did an incredible job teaching us tips and tricks to ensure we made the perfect drink. Then after each drink, we’d clean up a little and move to the next. In the end we had three delicious drinks and they have a cute little reserved section in their bar area for you and your fellow students to sit, socialize, and enjoy the drinks you made. I also highly recommend getting there a little early so you can check in and then grab a drink before class! So as two people who didn’t start as particularly big fans of Jameson, we left the complete opposite and having had such an incredible time with many laughs and amazing memories thanks to Dan and our fun fellow students! Don’t sleep on this incredible experience!!
  • We had an amazing experience with Ivan at the Jameson, he was a happy chap, made our experience homely. We had the cocktail shakers experience, we went up to the bar and he taught us through the stages of making one brilliant cocktail and a lovely drink. After the experience we were able to chat with our group downstairs in a private area which was really nice and finish off the cocktail he made at the beginning for us, and even finishing off the other groups one too bonus! Ivan was a brilliant host!! He made our night feel special! Our favourite experience of our holiday in Dublin 100% 👌👍. Ivan you are amazing & keep up the hard work and charm. 😊 Many thanks Ivan! & Other Jameson staff also who was amazing. 👍
