The reviews for the cafe are spot on - excellent food but very expensive. The blankets are gorgeous. Perfect for gifts to bring home from Ireland if you're not cheap and don't like that. True keepsakes.

The mill itself is beautiful and there are so many lovely things, great as Christmas is coming up. However if you look young you'll be followed around the store and directed to the "cheaper" section. My husband was just trying to buy a hat 🤣 It was really disappointing as we'd have liked to of stayed in the store and looked around some more but got the impression that it would be best if we left. The prices weren't a problem for us and perhaps a word of the wise moving forward, don't harass customers you assume don't belong. We travelled out just to visit Woollen mill. We won't be back.

Really nice place to see. They sell a lot of clothes and things for the house in wool and there's also a cafe where you can pick coffee, cakes and something to eat for lunch and a jewelry shop that has very good prices

We made a special trip here to the FoxFord Mills. The products are really good quality but eye-wateringly expensive. It would be wonderful if there were any seconds or any bargains to be had. I had rather hoped that we would be paying less than retail price. Good café with a variety of nourishing salads.

The food here is great. I can't say enough about the food in the little cafe at the back. It really is the center piece of the place. However I did have one bad choice. I ordered the chef special, the salmon fish cake. Which was more of a ball and it was nice just a little under seasoned. BUT... the problem with the dish was the salads served with it. There was a mint shredded cabbage, a pickled cucumber and a salad with pomegranate seeds. Each one overpowered the main dish. Afterwards I wondered why the chef special would do such a thing. But that was the only bad choice. The potato based seafood chowder was both creaming and with a nice aromatic fish smell. Not the bad fish smell. The mussels soft and tender, the soda bread with a crispy edge and the whole dish wholesome and filling. The tea, I wish I asked the brand, was really flavoursome. They must filter the water, or live in a soft water area as there was no scum and tea really tells the water quality. My wife had the quiche with fig salad. She loved it and was so impressed with the fresh figs, blue cheese and poached pears. Desserts are on a different level. Each of the cakes are lovely. I tried the carrot cake, cheese toffee cake, pecan pie. I might add not all at the same time, maybe next time. The others we sampled by eye all look a good choice, next time I might try the lemon meringue pie. The only criticism I would have... is each slice is too big. If they shaved off a centimeter it would be just right. Especially the pecan pie which was way too sickly towards the end, but in fact all were a struggle in the last few bites. I suggest taking the cream with each one, plus the tea, as it helps taking the sweetness edge off. Delicious nonetheless and it's a good idea to share. The woollen mills has many arts and crafts as well as a tour of the remaining part of the old factory. I am sure they are good, but as a man my stomach rules my decision making. Worth the visit.
