  • Nice river view on a sunny day, but by now they have fenced the ruin. So no more free exploring possible as described in 2019 reviews. We enjoyed the river bank. Yoo do not need to climb the gate...

  • Heard about this castle on Instagram. A bit hard to locate....just keep walking! Worth the visit to see the ruins. Nice water view from the site with rowers passing by.

  • Interesting ruin of a medieval era castle that was in the same family for many generations. Don't try to go down the private drive to the left. The castle is a short walk straight when you come to the end of the road.
  • Beautiful ruins being claimed by nature. It is a little hard to get to due to the fence and a sign saying it’s a construction area. There’s also unfortunately trash left behind by unvarying visitors, but other than that, definitely worth a visit.
  • Built in the 16th century on the banks of the River Corrib, the castle was home to the Blake family who lived there from 1600 to 1910.
  • Local busy bodies made a balls of this place. They turned it from a charming ivy clad castle ruins to a striped naked dilapidated building surrounded buy a steel fence restricting access, with plenty of signs for no camping, no fires et . There be no visitors allowed if they could get away with it.
  • Beautiful, gorgeous lake side castle ruins reclaimed by nature. Peaceful, clean with loads of birds chirping away, overlooking a beautiful clean, crystal clear lake. The lake seems to be connected to the lake along Menlo Cemetery not far from there. Its private property and you cant exactly park outside or inside the place or risk your car getting clamped. Locals advise parking at a school a short distance away to the left, traveling on the same road just before the castle. I was lucky and got a blessed local man who let me park inside his residence inside from the main gate n who told me to check out the local cemetery as well. Well work it. The horse was roaming freely inside the gated fence across the road from the school.
