  • Worth a hike up for the stunning view. And touching history -built in 484ad. Very peaceful as its off the beaten track.

  • Worth a hike. There is a spectacular cliff not far away. Sometimes t is difficult to cross the stone fences.
  • Watch out for the bull that's up there!! The church itself is interesting and the view is beautiful, but running into a bull blocking our way down really sullied the experience... He wouldn't get out of the way and seemed uneasy about us so we had to go down through someone's field and cut ourselves on briars. Would not recommend going up if he is around.
  • It was very hard to get to but we're enjoyed our visit here, not as Triassic as other areas in the island.
  • TEAMPALL BHEAN’IN (ST BENAN’S CHURCH) One of the smallest churches in Europe, This is reputedly the smallest church in Ireland. It stands atop a hill overlooking Cill Éinne Bay. In contrast with churches elsewhere in Ireland it has a north south orientation. It dates from about the 7th century. The views from it are outstanding. Nearby are the remains of a cashel wall and a clochán (stone cell). Their is a small 15 minute light hike up towards the church from a side road up some grass pathways and through large fields.
  • Spiritual and quieter than the rest of the Aran islands, this early church ruin is a steep 10.minute walk up and provides wonderful views. Completely free.
