Create an itinerary including Cliffs of Moher
Leaning out over the ocean, Cliffs of Moher represent the rugged side of coastal Ireland. The imposing cliffs rise more than 200 m (700 ft) above the Atlantic and consist mainly of shale and sandstone. More than 30,000 birds live on this rocky part of the coastline, and nearly 1 million people come to visit each year. Begin your adventure at the visitor center, featuring exhibits about the natural and historical significance of these cliffs. To observe puffins and hawks nesting in this area, bring binoculars and hike along a well-posted trail to the highest point of the cliffs, where you'll find a historical tower built in 1835. It can get windy and cold here, so dress appropriately. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Cliffs of Moher by using our Liscannor driving holiday planner.

  • Spectacular views, a bit pricey for what it is. The last time we visited, some 20 odd years ago, this attraction was free. There is now a visitors centre, which is okay, but hardly out of this...

  • I first went to the Cliffs in 2003 and it was nice. You actually parked in the same side of the road and just walked to the cliffs. This time we had to park across the street but I understand why...

  • Lovely! Such a great view. This place is huge, you can take long walks. I really recommend. You can see it was a film set of some productions.
  • We came here on a sunny day!! Though when we left Dublin it was raining, when we got to the cliffs the sky was clear. Got very lucky with the weather and beautiful visibility. The views are stunning and you get to walk all along the trail/coast. The have restrooms and a rest stop/cafe in the beginning. Wait to let the crowds from busses pass you or a lull to get photos without people in it.
  • Amazing and breathtaking place.. It is usually very windy but the views are mesmerising. its a 2-3 hour drive from Dublin and on the way back you can also stop at Galway for nice dinner. If you are visiting Ireland then this is a must visit place.
  • It’s an amazing experience with a remarkable scenery. Breathtaking view and I highly recommend to visit this place if you are in Ireland. It’s a 2-3 hours drive from Dublin. Usually it’s very windy so don’t forget to bring a good jacket and it’s recommended to have good and comfortable shoes as well.
  • If you like to be wowed and awed by nature, stop by here for a hike. Even if just standing at the main entrance, the view is spectacular. I hiked around with my wife for about 4 hours. Heading south about 2 miles, then back north to the Moher Castle. All said it was about 7 or 8 miles we hiked. Bring some comfortable shoes and plenty of water. Even got slightly rained on twice and didn't care, the views were too good. Could stay out here for hours taking photos.
