It was nice being able to walk around the castle and see the history. There is work being done on it, but it was open to the public and it was free. The park it is next to has a lovely playground.

Nice and well maintained. Interesting archeology and history but takes about 5 minutes to look around. Wheelchair ramp available but the paths inside the castle are gravel so might be difficult. Beautiful park and lake outside the castle. Playground also on site.

Lovely little pond to walk around with your dog and lots of poop bins around the footpaths to clean up after them too. Would be lovely if there was more information about the castle history or maybe events etc? Possibly a coffee shop/tea room on the grounds?

Had a great wee visit here to the ruins especially now they have opened up the stairs and viewing platform. The children certainly let their imaginations run wild here!

Every time I visit Roscommon I always check out the castle. One the the best public accessible castles I've seen in Ireland.
