  • How can you visit Aosta and not see the spectacular Praetorian arch? Marvel at the sheer size of the stones and its height. Little benches to one side are a bonus for those less able to walk there...

  • The surprisingly large old roman (?) gate is not to be missed as it dominates the main street and adds a real sense of the hisdtoric centre of the town.

  • I was there on boxing day. The shopping streets and restaurants were busy with local visitors. Impressive roman ruins from 2000 years ago. All these with the snowcapped mountains as backdrops.
  • Impressive Roman gates. Pedestrianised streets. Plenty of cafes and ice cream shops to choose from. Lovely gift shops also. Great scenic views.
  • Beautiful spot in the middle of aosta, history is shining here and you can feel and see how it was back in the old days.
  • From here, nice street start. Many shops n restaurant are there. Good shopping for local product.
  • Beautiful gate to the old Roman area in Aosta city. There’s a tow of cafes as soon as you enter. Tourist-friendly and well kept.
