Much more impressive on the inside than the outside. Large main altar of carve marble, which sits under a beautiful dome. The interior and exterior would benefit from some restoration.

The church of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo of Bosa (Province of Oristano) is a religious building belonging to the Diocese of Alghero-Bosa, built between 1770 and 1779 but officially consecrated in 1810 by the then Bishop Murro. The whole religious complex consists not only of the church but also of the former convent: here, in fact, the church of the Madonna del Soccorso previously stood, granted to the Carmelites in 1606 when the friars of the order who then occupied the convent located near the church of Sant 'Antonio Abate chose to abandon it due to the unhealthiness of that land due to the proximity of the river Temo. Thus it was that the Carmelites moved to the church of the Madonna del Soccorso in Bosa (central western Sardinia) which was, however, definitively demolished in 1770 to make room for the new construction site that would lead to the building of the Carmelo church: after 9 years the complex was completed but it was only in 1810 that it was officially opened to the popular devotion of the faithful. What happened to the adjoining convent? This was gradually abandoned in the second half of the 19th century when the suppression of religious orders led the friars to move and the convent into the hands of the Municipality which established the elementary schools and the Gymnasium there; the church first passed to the Fund for Worship and then definitively passed into the hands of the clergy in 1872 in exchange for the church of the Maddalena. With the abandonment of this complex, the Carmelites gradually found themselves having to leave the city of Bosa, migrating to other lands of Sardinia; today of this story remains the church which is still open to the worship of the faithful with an uninterrupted continuity that has been perpetuated over time since 1810.

A beautiful church, too bad it is about to fall apart .... too many water infiltrations ... spend two cents to restore churches like this .... overall beautiful ...
