  • We headed up the hills to see this location, unfortunately it was closed on day we were here so make sure you check opening times. You can still get a good view from the viewing place and alongside...

  • OMG. I mean I know it was post covid, but it was a mess. Not sure what angle the guide books take photos from, but totally underwhelming.

  • The amphitheatre was actually closed to the public so you cannot go down, you can onl watch it from above for the fee. Yes, there's an extensive information, but if you're not an archeology freak...

  • The theatre itself is very nice to look at and has a cool history, but the €3 per person entrance fee is quite expensive considering you can see it from the street above for free. You also aren't allowed anywhere near it and there's no information about it past the entrance (which you can read before paying the entrance fee). The attendant there didn't explain that it was just a path overlooking the theatre and only accepted exact change. If the money was used to maintain the site, it would have been worth it, but the only sign was so badly worn out and rusted that you could barely read it. We essentially paid to walk 200m take a picture and walk back out.
  • There is nothing special to see. The amphitheatre looks like abandoned, but they charge you 3€ if you want to take a walk to the bottom.
  • You cannot go into the site and explore, despite it stating on the website you can and the charge was 3 euros. We tagged onto the end of a guided tour and the history is very interesting. Built in the second century AD. It housed fights between gladiators, men and animals. Some of the original arena area still stands. It was also the seats for public executions and up to 8,000 spectators could be seated. It is fenced all round but you can still take pictures. The area was acquired by the Comune of Cagliari in the 19th Century. Well worth a visit.
  • Closed despite saying it’s open. Plus frankly - spend your time on sth more interesting
  • The theatre Is being renovated, although no workers were visible on the site. You are only allowed to walk in about 50 meters on one side, so you basically see almost the same things as looking through the fence on the side. This is all ok and understandable, but they charge 3€ for the ticket. They should be honest about it and just close it down. Or waive the ticket fee, since there is nothing to see. On the plus side, the lady at the ticket office was nice, gave us a city map and tips for visiting Cagliari.
