Create an itinerary including Ricetto di Candelo
Ricetto di Candelo represented for the medieval citizens of Piedmont a place to store grain, wine, and even themselves in the event of attack. The local feudal lords never intended it as regular housing. Two hundred cells take up 13,000 sq m (140,000 sq ft). The historical records first mention this structure more than a millennium ago. Visitors get drawn into the past because of how well preserved this site is. Try the antipasti at the restaurant inside. • Stunning medieval borgo, completely maintained in medieval style. Once you enter the tiny Borgo, it's like being transported throughout history to the past. It has some boutiques and taverns to have a full experience of the place. It's really fascinating and a one-of-a-kind experience in the middle of northern Italy.
  • A wonderfully preserved medieval village. It is well taken care of, you can actually feel the time warp inside here. Loved exploring this place. It was in my to do list but i will be back here..
  • This is a beautiful place to visit. Perfect for a slow afternoon stroll with no other visitors around. It is full of wonderful photo opportunities and transports you right back to the middle ages. Unfortunately the information boards were only in Italian - we would've loved to learn more about this fascinating place. But overall I'd recommend visiting Ricetto.
  • Perfect place for a walk.Romantic dinner in the restaurant inside the Ricetto.....highly recommend their deserts !!! Note for the ladys....wear flats! The street's are made of stones that are not ideal for high heals.
  • Fantastic Medieval town with Christmas market stores along the old lanes great atmosphere and plenty to see do eat and drink very interesting place a must visit.
