  • all nature vibes with sounds of cows mooing ! great place for picnics! The road to it via hike is rough, not gonna lie, but if you have healthy knees and can handle it, its almost 2 hours and half of an upward hike that leads you to Italian picnic soft academia vibes!
  • The path can be done on foot and possibly with some raised car in case one does not want to walk for an hour and a half. Compared to the old photos, the lake has quite retreated due to drought. However it is a nice walk and you can rest up there.
  • A truly fantastic lake immersed in the woods! I arrived from Montalto from the Via Francigena, the path is quiet and once I arrived I made the whole ring of the lake, a very open path even if the vegetation creates that magical climate, there are turtles and also many types of birds. From there you can easily continue to the surrounding lakes, PS congratulations for the cleanliness of the forest you have placed benches and tables for refreshments and garbage containers in every corner
  • The lake is beautiful and the landscape is beautiful. Fortunately, for lovers of peace and solitude like me, it can only be reached on foot or by off-road vehicle, so it's not too crowded all year round.
  • The Black Lake is fascinating and to get there it offers a whole series of solutions, from the classic summer outing (in the busiest periods there are too many cars passing by), to fishing and regassing on 2 wheels. But if you want you can go on for a longer trip which also includes the nearby French lake Lago Gignoux or Lago dei Settecolori, just across the border. It will take a little more effort but it is really worth considering the place. For those who want to stay a little longer: the Capanna Mautino refuge offers hotel services and the dirt road, if traveled carefully, allows you to reach here without traipsing. In summer it is easy to find the margaro from which to buy exquisite cheeses.
