    The church of Sant'Agostino is located north of the town next to the Belvedere arch. The current oratory, which stands on the site of the old church dedicated to the same saint.

    Church next to the Belvedere arch, it was built in 1672 on a project by the architect Giovenale Boetto, and contains frescoes by Taricco and Alberti. The church has small and contained dimensions however it deserves a visit; inside there is a valuable icon representing the "Massacre of the Innocents" painted in 1661 by Bartolomeo Garavoglia, a pupil of Guercino; the church is rich in wooden statues, among which the "Christ at the column" by the sculptor Plura from Lugano deserves a mention. and that of the "Risen Christ" by Clementi of Turin; the high altar in Baroque style is extraordinary.

    Unfortunately, I only saw the church from the outside. Despite being positioned at the corner at the bottom of the square, it is its main attraction. Beautiful, its white color makes it stand out flanked by the imposing arch on the right and the massive bell tower on the left.

    Beautiful church, in particular the 700th century interior restored very well. Worth a mass!
