Wander through gardens steeped in history at Giardino di Ninfa, where you can see the remains of Ninfa, a city thought to be founded in the first century of the Roman republic. The town was inhabited until the 16th century and today is the site for a 105 hectare (259.4 acre) English-style garden. Amble past streams, ponds, flowers, and trees to see what remains of the city. Bird-lovers may notice that the garden is home to 152 species of bird. Ask about guided tours offered in various languages. Really nice experience not far away from Rome, compared to other botanical gardens this one shine on how all the species are conserved on nature without the help of technology. Particularly nice even the medieval town ruins around the area, suggested to go during spring to see all the flowers blooming

After visiting the garden I understand why the Washington Post included this garden in the list "the most beautiful gardens in the world. The garden is like walking in a portrait with many different plants which give to the garden endless colours and shapes. Only guided tours are available (1 hour tour). My guide was very knowledgeable about plants as well as medieval history. I definitely recommend it!

Amazing place. Takes back to the time of roman empire. Every corner of the garden has a history to be shared.

Magical place; streams, ruins of an ancient city and over a thousand different floral species; absolutely beautiful. the Gardens are 6km from the medieval village of “Sermoneta” giving me the opportunity to visit them in a one-day trip.

Gardens of Ninfa are a wonder to see if you like nature, plants/trees and ancient ruins, just 1 hour drive from Rome. You can plan a visit to Sermoneta Town and then go visit the place. The park is well kept and staff very gentle and quite prepared, at least on the basics of botanics. It is not open every day/season and you need to make a reservation in advance (adult: €15), especially if you want to choose the best time of the day to visit it. The tour takes approximately 1 hour, it is not a guided tour, but you can find personnel at different point of interest inside the park. Smoking is not allowed of course. At the entrance/exit there's a bar, facilities and a few shops.
