  • What a find. You can completely submerse yourself in this place. It's quiet and peaceful, yet the site has wonderfully preserved features. One of the highlights of our trip.

  • Amazing place full of history. Little bit out of beaten track which therefore even rise it attractivity for visitors.
  • An interesting place but not easy to get to. We visited in March and caught the 11:10 route B bus from in front of the train station. We were told that the return bus went at 13:10 but it actually left at 12:45 so be aware. We were lucky to get an English guided tour for EUR 8 per person but it is quite possible that there could be no English speaking guides on site. We were the only people there at the time of our visit. Non guided entry is EUR 5.
  • Interesting thing to do near Civitavecchia. These therms are really old and this is an opportunity to learn more about their history and context. The way we planned it, we first visited these and then went to the ones in Ficoncella, which are still working, and it worked out really well.
  • Looks like you have to book in advance. I came here and all gates are closed despite Google time table.
  • This well preserved archaeological roman site is located on the hills over Civitavecchia, not far from the Ficoncella thermal waters and was originally known as Aquae Taurae. It seems the structure was at some point absorbed in the colossal villa built by emperor Trajanus . Nowadays, the site is open to the public, also with guided tours, and it seldom hosts musical and cultural events, especially during summer
