Create an itinerary including Old Port
Soaked in history and rich in local color, Old Port houses museums, movie theaters, cafes, restaurants, and shops. Renowned architect Renzo Piano redeveloped this area in the 1990s, restoring the historic buildings, like the old cotton warehouse, and creating new landmarks that have become the city’s biggest tourist draws. Take a long walk along the seafront promenade and be sure to visit the harbor’s biggest attractions, which include a museum dedicated to the city’s special relationship to the sea and a modern aquarium. Genoa remains an important port on the Mediterranean, and this busy harbor is filled to the brim with yachts, ferries, cargo ships, and boats of all sizes. Stop by for a bit of sightseeing, shopping, and fine dining. Plan to visit Old Port and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Genoa attractions using our Genoa trip planning site.

  • The port area is big with plenty of seating areas. There is also plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around the area. Most people will go walking or running here. Very calm area to relax.

  • Very beautiful, clean port. Fantastic for a morning jog. Looks like a lot of fascinating shops there. And on the seaside, you’ll see fancy boats and fancy cars. There’s also a pool here in case you want to go in for an afternoon swim!
  • When you’re looking for touristy places this is it. The port has plenty cheap eats such as tacos,´ and burgers. Be aware of pickpockets. The port itself has some artistic giant tentacles distorting the view. Only plus are several clean public toilets.
  • Amazing Super Yachts, with even bigger Cruise Boats that only Putin could afford 🤩🤑
  • Porto Antico, Genoa. Beautiful port city with expensive yacht berthed. Cruises also docked, Azmara and Princess Cruise, currently. Short walking distance to the Piazza and town of Genoa , a busy town.
  • Beautiful place and there's also a lot of nice sightseeing spots and restaurants too!
