Castello dei Vicari, Casciana Terme Lari

The castle is the centre of Lari. Fantastic views from the top. You can walk around for free and if you want to go inside, it’s €4. There are touch-screen videos to watch showing interviews with people from Lari describing how WWII affected them. There is a projector which cleverly fills in the gaps in the frescoes on the walls. And much more.

A not so out of the way castle that made me wonder why it doesn't make any of the guide books. The castle is easy to visit and parking was free. Also not full of tourists like other places in Tuscany.

Great place to visit. Interresting Castel with a beautiful city around. Great view and a good place to get a drink and buy italies best pasta.

Amazing town castle with a fabulous pasta making experience. This is by far one of the best tourist experiences I’ve had the pleasure of attending with my young family. The drive to the village is challenging with bends, chicanes and steep narrow passes. Beware as you drive the natural beauty of the landscape, seriously idillic property and vantage points are distracting! It’s best to wait for this castle on the top of the hill. Take a deep breath! It gives you an outrageous panoramic view of Tuscan green and terracotta roofs. The village below is exceptionally well kept with quality deli’s and bars. Perfect and relaxed.
