Scaliger Castle in Malcesine, Malcesine

The Malcesine castle should definitely be on the top to do list for tourists to Malcesine or lake garda environs. As the top of the castle gives a beautiful view to the city and the lake. For only 6 euros, the entire castle and the museum can be visited. Climbing up the highest tower might be a bit scary though.

My sister got married in this castle 13 years ago. It's a lovely castle with beautiful views across Lake Garda. If you wanted to get married in a stunning location, it doesn't get much better than this (although be prepared for it being very hot!). If you're merely visiting the castle, then the entry fee is worth the trip. There is a small museum inside and plenty of paths to explore, as well as great views from the very top bell tower. Steps are steep and low head height in places, but fun for children and those with reasonable level of fitness. This castle is a must visit for those in Malcesine.

Totally worth a visit when you're in Malcesine! You'll not only have a beautiful view over the city and the lake, but also enjoy the inner parts of the castle with lots of information on the history, flora and fauna of the Garda lake area.
