Very beautiful roman church

The Church is located outside the town, on a hill, surrounded by nature. Seeing it from below, it is striking because of the high bell tower and the gabled structure of the church, where brick and sandstone alternate, typical materials of Romanesque architecture that developed in Monferrato in 1100. The interior of the church has undergone modifications and restorations; recently a fragment of a fresco from the 1400s was found depicting Saint Catherine of Alexandria. From the church you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and it is possible to eat in the nearby farmhouse.

Suggestive rural church from the Romanesque period, with an imposing bell tower. It would be nice to be able to include it in the "open churches" circuit which includes other churches in the area, in order to be able to better exploit it. Now it looks a bit abandoned.

After a steep and, luckily, short climb you can admire this Romanesque-style jewel. Effort rewarded: pity about the state of abandonment - the interior cannot be visited - inevitable given the absolute lack of visitors. On the other hand, you can admire the monument and the peaceful countryside below with grazing cows and calves in peace.

After eating at the San Nazario farmhouse, a walk is recommended to visit this small church and to appreciate the surrounding landscape. I'm posting suggestive photos taken in November, enjoy your walk!
