The town sits on the border with Slovenia and has its own border crossing, so you'll be able to cross into the other country and explore its nearby attractions. The main site in this area is a medieval castle, destroyed and restored at various time over the centuries. The current structure, privately owned and open to visitors upon request, sits on a ridge above the fishing port and offers great views of the town below.
