Valle dell’Ospo - "Laghetti delle Noghere", Muggia

Very interesting place from a naturalistic point of view. Too bad that there are no observatories along the banks of the lakes to observe without disturbing herons, egrets, kingfishers, orioles, robins ....). It could thus compete, albeit on a smaller scale, with the nature reserves of Val Stagnon, Isola della Cona, Val Cavanata... In the last period you can also observe night herons, garganey geese, merganser, and a rarity: the purple heron which is not sedentary but migratory and so far I have only been able to see them in Val Stagnon

Simple but suggestive atmosphere. The lakes are small but full of life: frogs, freshwater turtles and fish. Great for walking and being in contact with nature

Nice place for a pleasant stroll!! Lots of little animals to discover, especially turtles! If you want to get there via Google Maps, set the signs for Parking Laghetti delle Noghere because we had initially sent us to a road on the other side, from which they are not accessible!!

These recently formed lakes (which occurred after the 70s of the last century following the abandonment of the clay quarry along the Rio Ospo), today constitute a natural biotope, which is very interesting from a landscape point of view. Several small paths connect along the edges of the bodies of water, which offer the possibility of admiring different animal species, especially birds. It is a beautiful place, comfortable and easy, also ideal for families and children.

Total disappointment. In some places the path is almost impassable due to the vegetation and brambles that grow almost everywhere. The area is (rightly) full of flies and insects due to the presence of the "lakes" which are brown puddles.. I don't recommend it.
