Take a walk or drive along Lungomare Caracciolo, a long seafront promenade lined with renowned hotels, restaurants, and shops. Along the promenade are numerous spots where you can stop, rest, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and distant Vesuvius. This popular waterfront road was named after Francesco Caracciolo, a hero of the Neapolitan Republic who was hanged and then thrown into the bay on the orders of Horatio Nelson, a famed admiral of the British Royal Navy. The promenade was built between 1869 and 1880, and is separated from the sea only by a few artificial reefs, which have replaced ancient beaches that once lined the bay. The road is open to motor vehicles in both directions, with an adjacent bike path on the sea side. This is a great walk along the water. The view is excellent and there are several restaurants along the way. The sad part is the amount of litter on the streets that will end up in the water.

Even though this spot does not come highly recommended in Naples, I though the stroll along the promenade was quite pleasant. It is also on the way to the castle.
