Create an itinerary including Lake Orta
Lake Orta is dotted with romantic buildings that are reflected in the water. The lake's cool, clean waters are likely what's left of a retreating glacier. Walk along the lake's shores and find activities both on and off the water. Travel to the southern or northern end of the lake by train. You can stay in hotels in either area. • This area is very beautiful. The views are straight from a picture book ! The town is like a historic museum, but alive and bustling.

  • Fantastic location for a long weekend. Plenty to do, we took a water taxi over to the Isola San Guilio fo a look round. The town of Orta is really lovely with some nice bars and restaurants with a number looking over the lake. A number of quirky shops and ice cream bars. If your feeling energetic take a walk upto the Sacro Monte di Orta area, lots of interesting chapels to see. Lovely place.
  • I visited at the beginning of the year. Summer kind of very busy 😵 I imagine. It is one of the 10 best Italian hamlets (borghi) dating back the sixteen century, for not going back to the Neolithic on the Lago D'orta . The large historic areas is pedestrian. The location is reachable by train from Novara (Orta Miasino). Food and wine are part of the great Piedimont cuisine, Bagna Cauda, Barolo, Bonet. Great trekking and MTB tours. Cannot be missed.
  • Wonderful lake with beautiful little villages around. Great place for SUP and Kajak.
  • A charm old village with Orta lake and the small island Orta San Giulio, lots of cool bars and restaurants. Don't miss the Sacro monte place and the gorgeous lake overview. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Italian pearl. Beautiful and very calm.
