  • A fascinating look into the layers of the past! A well preserved Roman era house under a renaissance era palace! Outstanding! Also, we learned much more about Trajan’s column, which I always admired.....  more

  • Very nice place, highly recommend to walk around and enjoy this open air museum.
  • Best thing we did in Rome. Super impressive and very well done. Informative… entertaining… dramatic without being melodramatic. Presentation lasts about one for hour. First part with the excavations of the Roman houses. Second part with the Trajan temple.
  • Fantastic stop, add it to your list! While excavating, they found the remains of a Roman house and some pieces of the complex that used to be around Trajan's column. They turned that into a multimedia show, which includes videos and small light shows to explain the significance of the things that were found. Also has a terrific detailed presentation about Trajan's column, just outside!
  • While getting tickets online was a bit difficult due to the language barrier, we booked the 5pm tour which was in English. Really enjoyed the history and it was well laid out. I really enjoyed seeing the historical layers of Rome through the ages.
  • Very nice experience, though the museum is small but it gives visualization to ruins
