Noisy and vibrant, Piazza Navona is the hub of artistic and commercial activity in this part of the city. Known for its Baroque architecture, alfresco restaurants, ornate fountains, and street artists, the square attracts visitors from around the world. The centerpiece is an elaborate fountain--representing the rivers Nile, Ganges, Danube, and Plate-- created by Baroque sculptor Gianlorenzo Bernini. A massive, ancient obelisk tops the fountain. Artists Giacomo della Porta and Antonio della Bitta sculpted the two smaller fountains here. The plaza was built in the first century on the site of a former arena where ancient Romans came to watch various competitions. We visited many places in Roma, this was one that brought a lot of energy; beautiful visit. No need for a guide as you can tour this part on your own.

Really well crafted and looked after fountains in a picturesque setting. Really enjoyed our visit here, and it was not over crowded

A fantastic place that will not disappoint. Even most of the restaurants that surround most of the square are reasonably priced.

Fascinating look at many aspects of Rome in one spot. I originally was just playing to stop by a few minutes at Piazza on my way to the Vatican. However I was impressed with the many elements, sights and sounds there and ended spending over an hour just wondering around. The intriguing thing I found is watching all the people from tourists, to locals to buskers to people selling all mixed in this large open space. There was no less than 6 different musicians playing the afternoon I was there, each with a completely different instrument and music. Listening to them while wandering around, looking at the fountains was quite relaxing despite the large amount of people. Didn't have time to stop for food, and I don't know how the various restaurants are, but it would be a treat to have a drink while people watching.

Amazing scenery will greet you around all four corners of this Piazza... social environment for people who you'll see dancing, singing, performing different arts and just having a good time next to the ocean. A lot of people also take their dogs for walks here, which is nice. We also saw a lot of people jogging or exercising in groups on the waters edge. Always helps to have a nice view while training. You will also see alot of sailboats and smaller boats on this side of the harbor. Water taxi's are also something to experience. Helping people get across the harbors waters with no effort. Awesome place and a must visit, especially if you have a guide to give you the detail and historical facts about this place. Very cool to see and experience

Another worthy visit in Rome. To be fair, the fountains, monuments and cafes are not quite as famous as some other parts of Rome but the sum of each together is worth a visit. Have a drink at one of the bars and enjoy the world going buy. It's a popular tourist spot so will get very busy.

This is a good place to go to see the wonders of Rome. The architecture is remarkable and restaurants surrounding it are delicious. I would like to mention there are quite a few people who are looking to sell touristy products and that threw me off a little at the beginning but if you just keep walking they will leave you alone. Otherwise definitely a place that should be high on your list to check out.

This bustling large piazza feels like a perfect window into the "Rome" experience - although it's admittedly a bit touristy. It is a fantastic place to sit and people-watch while you enjoy a beverage or a meal. There are three different fountains, the Four Rivers Fountain, the Neptune Fountain, and the Fountain of the Moor -- all worth taking some time to appreciate. We stayed in an AirBnb just a block away, which turned out to be a fabulous location as home-base for our stay in Rome. It's especially beautiful at night.
