#25 of 328 in Shopping in Rome
Create an itinerary including Porta Portese
Go shopping at Porta Portese, a huge flea market that takes place weekly. You will find anything you can think of here, including furniture, clothing, antiques, books, jewelry, purses, artwork, albums, leather, and much more. This is also a great place to go for bicycle-related purchases and repairs. When you shop, keep in mind that bargaining is acceptable here, and you can usually get a cheaper price. Most stalls only take cash as payment. Arrange to visit Porta Portese and other attractions in Rome using our Rome trip planner.

  • For a taste of the local culture, this was one of the best places I had visited during my stay in Rome. If you intend to go, you should try to visit on a Sunday morning. You need to bear in mind...

  • What a disappointment! Low quality, poor selection, questionable salespeople - better stay away from this venue.

  • A never-ending market, there are loads of stalls. There are some good bargains but also a lot of cheap and nasty stuff. I felt safe but you need to watch your bag as it gets really busy. I would probably go again.
  • Huge street market - but set your expectations; there are hundreds of vendors and maybe 2 antique vendors and a few vintage clothing/purse places. Everything else is flea market (junk). Still fun to walk around. Sunday only.
  • Sunday market for buying clothes and home products with the lowest rate. This sunday market is located near Trastevere. From the entrance we can see all types of clothing and footwear for men and women. Clothes are starting from 50 cent branded products also available at low prices. This market continues Around 1 kilometer with all kinds of shops which are temporarily made for only every sunday morning to afternoon.
  • An excellent and extensive flea market to buy inexpensive and second hand items like clothes, shoes, caps, bags and others.
  • One of the nicest Flea Market out there, it’s full of gems, designer vintage pieces, handmades, antiques and more. And the food trucks were good, like real street food good. Plus there are few cafés on the sides where you can rest, recharge and continue the digging 🙌🏼
