Duomo di San Gimignano is a Roman Catholic church famous for its colorful fresco cycles depicting biblical stories. The frescoes inside the church include works by Taddeo di Bartolo, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Lippo Memmi, Benozzo Gozzoli, and Bartolo di Fredi. Audio guides are available with entry, and explain with more detail the stories being depicted in the artwork. The architectural interior of the church is decorated in black and white marble, and vaults are painted with gold stars. Photography is not permitted inside the church. This was by far the most impressive cathedral we went to on our Tuscany trip (much more impressive even than Pisa). The frescos and art work are generally in great condition and the whole cathedral...

It is another tourist attraction in the beautiful Tuscany region. and only take 1 day to see them all. The weather is great in summer. You can see the scenery from a high angle.

Surreal, out of a dream kind of place! A lively plazza by the day with the hustle bustle of tourists, countless ristorantes & shops and perfect bliss & peace by the night with people strolling like they are part of some play! Absolutely charmed!!

Marvelous square in the little town of San Gimignano. I definitely recommend to buy the all-included pass for the city, which is valid for two days and allows you to visit the dome, the town hall and its tower as well as few other landmarks of San Gimignano.

It was just a quick stop for me, but the autumn Tuscan sky, the little streets, the gelato and the calmness of the visitors made it incredibly pleasant! It was on my list to visit and I am glad I got the chance to be there on a sunny day!

The San Gimignano town is little, and you can visit it in a short time. We arrived early before all the tourist busses or visitors appeared, in the main street there are many stores and some galleries. We found a few museums where they showed the torture chambers. At the center there is a food market, which I think is focused more on the locals rather than tourists. The view from the top castle overlooks the hills of Tuscany where many farms and villas are located.
