Chiesa di San Giovanni in Tuba, Duino Aurisina

Beautiful and very interesting interior of the church. There are many interesting sights nearby - gardens, gravestones, Timava springs... A nice and calm place to visit.

Really nice for a break

Superb church located right next to the Mouths of the Timavo, the resurgences of this river that previously flows under the karst rocks from Croatia to here. In the 4th century, with the advent of Christianity, the first chapel was built, which, with subsequent modifications, became today's basilica. An evocative building immersed in an oasis of peace. Probably one of the most beautiful and characteristic churches I have ever visited. It alone is worth the trip.

Splendid, fascinating, mystical and original with its resurgence inside this IV century Church of San Giovanni in Tuba. Surrounded by a historic park with tall trees. On the back of the Church, the mouths of the Timavo, resurgences that make the Timavo River re-emerge with its unique color, in its two km before diving into the Adriatic Sea. These two km place it in first place as the shortest river in Italy.
