La Pigna, Sanremo

Old town full of narrow streets small shops and restaurants,fantastic to explore. Just be prepared for lots of stairs and uphill walk.

It’s hard to find it 😅 Don’t follow google maps, the old San Remo is a true labyrinth, just go up in the street and you will arrive to a find place to see a really nice landscape!

Nice to visit, lot of walking up and down so bring comfortable shoes and wait until late afternoon or early morning if it’s a hot day

The most beautiful part of Sanremo, the ancient and beating heart of music and events in summer and tourists, many, even in winter! Now that many facades have been repainted, the Pigna seems to have worn the beautiful dress ... they should intervene a little more, rearrange many more buildings. However, it is a clean, very interesting and folkloric neighborhood. The narrow streets and stairs that rise from the center to the viewpoint of the Madonna della Costa, the cathedral that dominates the city, are beautiful. If you are on vacation do not miss a visit, highly recommended !!!

The old Sanremo called "Pigna" is really crazy because it is very suggestive. It seems to go back in time when there were no big streets with traffic. There are only narrow alleys with houses and a few restaurants and shops. At the top of the Pigna then there is a view over the whole city that will take your breath away. The only flaw is everything uphill and therefore for those who are not used to or have health problems it is very tiring. The top, however, can be reached by car.
