  • Marvelous
  • Seventeenth-century church in pure neoclassical style, recently well restored. It is located inside a large building, the former convent of the Discalced Carmelites known as Palazzo Merolli, as it was the pontifical architect Vittorio Merolli who promoted the construction of the complex, as a plaque in the church recalls. Among the works there is a precious wooden statue of the Risen Christ and a seventeenth-century painting of the Madonna at the entrance.
  • The Discalced Carmelites arrived in the area in 1643 occupying the Palazzo degli Scalzi now the seat of the Mam's (Modern Art Gallery) Starting from this beautiful Baroque church then occupying the reborn church of the Madonna del Cerro in Rotondo Through the work of pergola devotees including Mr. Bessi, but with dedicated altars also in neighboring towns such as the Palazzo, spreading the Carmelite culture
