A 15-minute walk through the Tuscan forest will take you to Cala Violina, a small cove known for its calm, transparent water and alabaster sand. Opening into the heart of the Natural Preserves of Scarborough, the cove is sandwiched between two evergreen headlands that block the waves, making for great snorkeling. You can't get to the cove by car, but you can rent a bike in the summer. The 2 km (1.2 mi) path is easily walkable, too.
