Create an itinerary including Sanctuary of Giove Anxur
Sanctuary of Giove Anxur , a Roman temple built on a hill some 227 m (745 ft) tall, offers impressive views of the nearby town and the Mediterranean sea. The substructure dates back to the first century BCE. The ruins themselves include a fortified camp, the temple itself and its terrace, as well as a smaller temple with traces of ninth-century frescoes. Roman cults worshiping the gods Venus and possibly Jupiter celebrated rites here. Bring sturdy footwear and be aware that the inclines are steep. Visit the on-site bar for refreshments before hiking back down. • This place is amazing, very worthwhile to come and see. The ancient ruins are fascinating and the views down onto Terracina and the ocean are stunning. Cost 7 euros to get in and worth every cent.
  • A lot of history in this place, interesting to learn about it! Tickets for 7€ and we got an information brochure at the entrance. The staff were really helpful and nice. Toilets and parking at the entrance. Unfortunately the park need a renovation, it could be so much more and the history would be presented better. Some places were tagged down, there were areas closed by plastic bands and the information boards were maybe a bit few and old. Nevertheless it's still worth the visit! Tip: Bring your own drink and snack and have a lunch with a view.
  • place with nice architectural building and good views. Ample of photo opportunities for a keen eye.. best of all, you can climb all the way to the top in a car..
  • Great views of the sea board and interesting archeological site. I wish they would fill it with more facts about how the Temple of Jupiter worked and the mythology. The gift shop is pretty much non existent..friendly staff though.
  • It is very beautiful, the view is stunning Quite an instageam lication, but the passages and path are not made for stralling. You have to look where you are going, wear comfortable shoes. Otherwise it is very nice. You can come at lunchtime. Bring snacks and sit at one of the picnic areas.
