Piazza Castello is the urban center of one of northern Italy's most important cities and was Italy's first capital. Wander the square to admire the Royal Palace, Royal Library, and the Royal Theater, among other structures. The old castle, from which the plaza takes its name, is a fortress built atop Roman ruins. Explore the portico-lined arcades along the square's perimeter of the square. They connect to many of the area's shopping streets. Work out when and for how long to visit Piazza Castello and other Turin attractions using our handy Turin online driving holiday planner.

A beautiful old Grand square just outside the Plazzo Reale. It is lined with lovely old buildings. Quite unlike many other cities.

Beautiful please spending time with family and friend

It's an amazing square with three different palaces built in three different historical periods. The royal palace and the Madama palace are museums which you can visit. There is also the tourist info center their which you can buy tickets for all the Piedmont museums and probably even public Transportation.

Amazing square with buildings that are awesome to look at. The stone work in particular is incredibly done! Looks super pretty in the night too!
