An icon that once stood in the chapel was venerated for having healing powers, making Santuario della Consolata a pilgrimage site for centuries. The original, humble structure grew over the years with each generation of monks. Inside the church, Rococo decorations reflect the light, making the marble and Solomonic columns gleam. Sculptures commemorating various saints fill the chapel and adorn the outside. Many of these hold special significance for the city of Turin's history. The saints represent the various modes of life in the city, from trading to health. Free entrance to one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Absolutely amazing. I could go on for days only about the different types of marble inside (by the altar, there’s this purple marble that’s unbelievable). Truly worth the visit, just be prepared to stay for longer than intended, admiring the details. Also, there was one of the best nativity scenes ever.

Beautiful shrine, partially designed by Juvarra. When you enter, the coloured marble is very impressive, then you realise there are several spaces that are not immediately visible…

Most beautiful and interesting church I've been to, I think. Check out the full walls of amateur art, depicting near death experiences stretching back over a hundred years.

Rococo decorations on the inside with colored marbles and solomonic columns. The church serves as a burial place for some local saints. The sanctuary is an outstanding collection of architecture and the highly decorated interior, leads to a magnetic experience. The most beautiful preying place I ever seen!
