This is one of the most beautiful, although lesser known, mountain areas of Italy. Unspoilt by ski resorts because it was once the hunting grounds of the Italian royal family.

I knew the place in summer, but at the end of winter it becomes something different and unique. I would advise to be careful to select sunny days to visit it.

This is the continuation of parc du mercantour on the Italian side of the Alps. It is just as beautiful, it has the same abundance of wild flowers and wild animals. The mountains are a little bit different but maybe even more spectacular. When we were there there were far fewer people than on the French side. The welcome in the mountain huts is very friendly. There are places in the Italian Alps were the food is better.
