The easiest way to experience Vatican Museums, featuring an outstanding collection of fine art, is by joining a guided tour. These museums display works from an immense collection that the Roman Catholic church built up over several centuries. You can see some of the most renowned Classical sculptures in the world, as well as numerous Renaissance art masterpieces. Founded in the early 16th century by Pope Julius II, the museums contain 54 galleries. The last stop and a highlight of every tour is the Sistine Chapel, featuring the world-famous ceiling decorated by Michelangelo. You are not required to join a tour, but the collection is spread over an area of nearly 15 km (9 mi), so it's highly recommended. Look online beforehand to choose from many different tour options. Way to crowded in august. We bought the lunch ticket which is a 19.5€ „full italian lunch“ and it was a complete joke. You get your meal in one way beverage in a big crowded food court without any windows. If you want to go there get your tickets online and be there early or pretty late.

Extremely awesome. It is just the heat that was the culprit otherwise totally worth it. Only if they can create more washroom there won't be long lines for the wait, especially for the ladies. The various galleries were awesome showing the epitome of excellence in art and finally when you arrive at the Sistine Chapel, that's a sight to behold and absorb it as much as you can with your eyes, because you know that you're gonna cherish this memory for always.

You have to buy the tickets with a lot of time because if not you have to buy them for more money. Amazing place with a lot of art you can spend a whole morning here looking at all it contains. I recommend to take it easy and make a lot of pics.

Fantastic and magnificent place. There are a lot of museums in it so you need to share a time at least three hours. And strongly advise that you should buy your ticket online. I bought a combined tickets and I did not wait for a long queue. As I said that very great place and touristic, But I think there is a lack of explanations in English and don't forget to collect a map from the entrance. Otherwise you may feel a bit lost

Its a must to visit if you are in Rome. Get your skip the line ticket and head to the museum immediately. You will spend 3 to 5 hours at least and u wont feel the time passing. It will always be busy but you can enjoy it anyway. Its just so big so you better understand where are you going and ready a bit earlier to your visit
