Gallerie dell'Accademia
Admire pre-19th-century Venetian paintings--including Leonardo da Vinci's "Drawing of Vitruvian Man"--at Gallerie dell'Accademia. This gallery, housed in the Scuola della Carità, contains works from such masters as Lazzaro Bastiani, Francesco Guardi, and Lorenzo Lotto. Learn more about the paintings with an audio guide. You can arrange a guided tour for groups of ten or more. See Gallerie dell'Accademia and all Venice has to offer by arranging your trip with our Venice trip itinerary maker app.

The way the Accademia is advertised around Venice is that it's home of the Vitruvian Man. Indeed, he is even on signs and merchandise they sell in the shop at the gallery itself. Shame they only...

Impressive museum that hosts a large collection of mostly religious-themed art from Venetian masters, such as Tintoretto, Veronese, Giovanni Bellini and Titian, among many others. I was completely moved by some works, and it's safe to say this is an unmissable visit for any art lover. The entrance fee is 12€ and it's worth every euro. The nearby bridge also offers some incredible views to boot.

The best art gallery in Venice - should be high on any tourist's to-do list here! A huge collection of art from a wide span of centuries, housed in a beautiful historic building. There are lockers here so bring a 1 euro coin if you have bags (coin is returned to you on collection).
-
The building and its contents is imposing and also convinces with the combination of old architecture and old master painting. It is barrier-free and very modern, except for the possibility to rent a locker (only 1€ coins go in and in other museums it is simply more convenient without money). It's definitely worth a visit, especially in parallel with the Biennale, which attracts far more attention than the other museums in Venice, including the Academia.
-
Full of Ventian masterpieces in a superb building. Loads of airy spaces to study the various pieces. It also wasn't too busy so no pressure to move onto the next gallery. Best of all, it was only €12 entry fee.
-
A beautiful peaceful museum with works from artists I haven’t heard about before (so it was a moment of exploration for me). It’s not a huge museum so you can see everything without feeling overwhelmed. The museum is situated in a very nice part of Venice and if you’re under 26, the entry ticket is only 2€ (instead of 13€ I think).
