Create an itinerary including Mercati di Rialto
Mercati di Rialto stands in the commercial center of the city, with views of the bridge of the same name as well as the Grand Canal. With fruit, fish, and vegetables featured prominently, you'd be challenged to find a better market to wander through in Venice. You can go here before any other attraction, as this opens before anything else in the city. Visitors with kitchen access may want to make daily visits. Vendors also sell leatherwork, jewelry, and other tourist trinkets. Plan to visit Mercati di Rialto and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Venice attractions using our Venice travel planner.

  • A vibrant busy place full of locals buying their meals! Loads of fruit and veg, fish, seafood and herbs etc and it all looked (and smelt) very fresh!

  • Always reminds me movie "Tourist" and Johhny Depp's escape. You can smell all types of Mediterranean herbs and spices. And early morning welcomes to fish market as well. Bought some ready to use herb....  more

  • Come here on a foggy autumn or winter morning, preferably when the fish market opens at 07.30. You will then meet mostly locals and professionals. The market is open on week-days except Monday. There is an abundance of varieties of fish and shell-fish from the Adriatic Sea, presented in a delightful way and a few imports from foreign waters.
  • Fun local market with a great variety of seafood, spices and produce. My favorite part was watching the vendors trying to keep the seagulls from flying off with their fish. I expected pastries or baked goods but this is solely seafood and produce.
  • Love, love, love. The freshest seafood, produce, little shops. Wow make this a daily trip 1st thing in 🌄. Not many people out and about at 8am. So food is great, cappuccino quick and tables available.
  • Mercato du Rialto is soooo nice!! I bought my favorite red currant here!!! There are a range of fruits here for choosing as well as sea food!!! Since I didn’t have any cook tools in my hotel, I didn’t buy the sea food. That’s a pity.
  • The most important stop for me in Venice. Market with fish, seafood, fruits, vegetables, pasta, spices, flowers and other Italian specialities. Its a located a short walk from Rialto brige and u shoud come here in the morning when it lives here the most.
