Riserva Naturale Speciale di Fondotoce, Verbania

Today I took a nice walk from Pallanza to Fondotoce. Walking on the pedestrian/cycle path it is possible to easily reach the nature reserve and admire the reed beds, the lake and the surrounding area. This area, of about 30 hectares, looks like a reed marsh, extending from the final part of the Toce river to part of the coast of Lake Maggiore, delimited on the border areas by narrow strips of willow vegetation, mixed with a dense and varied. A nice walk ☺️

A place where you can immerse yourself in nature, walk in the greenery in a seraphic calm accompanied by the flow of the river. Ideal for children who can run and discover contact with nature. We call it "the forest of rabbits"

Fantastic place for walking or cycling ... Also suitable for children. Take a complete tour from Fondotoce to Gravellona Toce are about 5 km immersed in nature and along the Toce river. A recharge of positive energy. Then there are some panels that explain very instructive fauna and flora.

Poorly managed nature reserve from a naturalistic point of view which is strongly impacted due to the tourist activities that are within its borders, creating considerable disturbance especially in the summer. One of the least disturbing activities, bird watching, cannot be done easily due to the cycling tourists who keep passing by. Also, the birdhouse is very neglected and small. It would be nice if the tourist activities present in the reserve moved to another place and the wetland was expanded, perhaps by inserting places for photographic hunting, thus decreasing the number of people present in the area and enhancing the reserve for what it is. making it something more than a cycle path.

Very suggestive nature reserve with enchanting points, nice for walks in company, trekking, biking, the downside could be more manicured paths
