Create an itinerary including Ponte Pietra
Built by the Romans in the first century, Ponte Pietra is the historical legacy of Verona as well as a reminder of the city's resilience. The bridge's architecture features a mix of materials and building techniques spanning the two millennia of its existence. Although the retreating German army damaged the bridge in 1945, it was restoration with original stone. As you stroll across the Adige river, take in views of the old town center. • Lovely walking along the foreshores that are lined with shady trees and then on the bridge itself to take in the scenes on either side.

  • This is one of the top three things in Verona for sure. You must walk till the bridge. You can enjoy the lovely sights from each side. You can take photos from anywhere. You can cross over and decide which side you want to walk. I mean it is simply a joy.
  • A beautiful place to watch the sunset in Verona, if you want to eat in a restaurant nearby, I suggest you book early. The bridge is popular with tourists and is packed full of people waiting for the sunset.
  • The most beautiful view of the city is from the castle above the bridge, ride the cable car up to 5e and the view is indescribable, I recommend it to everyone. Verona is a beautiful city, but you can expect big crowds, especially on weekends it is the only complaint for this city
  • What an amazing view. You can see small mountains on one side and on the other side the San Pietro High with some ancient historical ruins
  • Probably one of the most famous bridges in all of Italy, wonderful vistas of the area can be achieved from here, it’s a truly lovely and beautiful experience.
