  • Very cool experience - a must-do for anyone who enjoys birds. My husband who is not a birder also enjoyed himself.

  • We had a nice bird walk on the property. Fritz was our guide and helped us to find rare birds and interesting plants. It's an amazing place for birders and nature lovers!

  • A nice scenic get away with endemic species. The host, Fritz, has been working there since 1970 and has an immense love for birds. The birds are sweet and love humans. To top it off, $20 to get in is not bad! The sanctuary was empty and I was given unlimited time to feed the birds and enjoy the plants, views, and creatures on the property. The only cons I can imagine were, the dogs that chased me at the entrance (because I was walking) were pretty fear inducing and it took a while for someone to meet me there, so I wasn’t sure if I was actually supposed to be there. The journey there without a private driver is pretty difficult, I ended up walking a few miles and getting in random route taxis to get here from east Montego Bay, since it’s kind of hard to find on a map. There’s not a lot places I would imagine parking either but there must be space because people figure out how to get here someway. There’s some large pot holes too that western driver’s might struggle with if using a rental. For the journey I went on to get here, I got what I wanted out of this experience and some photos! If you have the capability, I highly recommend coming!
  • We had an absolutely amazing experience at this bird sanctuary! There were many humming birds and other cute small birds around. We got to feed many of them by hand. The view is also amazing. The staff are so friendly and helped us take great pictures.
  • Great place! Off the beaten path not super touristy, took a taxi from the resort and got up in the mountains looking at montego Bay. Staff are kind, educational and even pointed out the Jamaican owl! I'm a bird nerd and loved this place. Small and quiet, great to feed the hummingbirds by hand and maybe even get hit in the face by one! Lots of different types of birds.
  • This place is beautiful and peaceful. The keepers supply you with bird food to attract the birds and you are free to walk around outside the property (it’s someone’s home). The road to get here is winding and narrow, so I would not advise driving here if you’re not a native but taxis are plentiful in Jamaica.
  • Best kept secret of western Jamaica… when we went the only other people there were older birdwatcher types from Europe. Birds were all calm and used to being fed by people so that makes photography easy and rewarding. It’s up a mountain in the middle of nowhere, though, so make sure your transportation arrangements are made before hand.
