Explore the mansion house of Rose Hall Great House, built in Jamiacan Georgian style and famous for its mistress who reportedly possessed powers of black magic. Originally the site of a plantation, the house is now a museum filled with artifacts showcasing its part in the history of slavery. Consider taking the night tour to experience the spookier side of its past. Murders, secret passageways, and witchcraft abound. Who knows, you may even see the ghost of Annie Palmer, who allegedly walks the silk-printed corridors. Plan a Montego Bay trip in moments using our itinerary builder.

  • Great tour outside of Montego Bay. Our guide Latoya was informative and entertaining. We had no prior knowledge at all of Rose Hall House and what it was all about .. we thoroughly enjoyed...

  • Unfortunately would not recommend. Although the main tour guide was pleasant and informative, we felt harassed by another staff member. We were followed by a staff member who was not leading our tour....  more

  • You get a lot of history of the property which includes when it was built and the ownership chain. Out tour guide was very detailed and knowledgeable on the subject matter. She was able to answer the questions that came from our group. You get a quick tour of the grounds and a more detailed tour of the Great House with all the rooms. In each room, you get a bit of history on the furnishings and the relationship to the owner. Very scenic property. The tour was worth it.
  • We hired a driver called Blake (who is our shuttle from and to the airport) to take us on an excursion for today (Bob Marley's Mausoleum, Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon). We really enjoyed visiting Rose Hall great house as it was on our Jamaica bucket list for a long time. Our tour guide Erica was really nice and knowledgeable. Her stories were captivating and mesmerizing. She was really good and friendly. The tour was great and well managed. I took a lot of pictures and we had a great time. It didn't disappoint and I really recommend it.
  • We had a guide to ourselves and loved walking thru the house and the grounds…the stories around “Annie” were mostly just that - stories. I would have rather heard just the actual history, but it was beautiful day… And, there was an awesome gentleman selling jewelry and other souvenirs outside by “Annie’s tomb”.
  • I highly recommend visiting this landmark when in MoBay. The tour not only provides a history of the site, but also of the (horrific) slave trade. The tour is more enjoyable when you are visiting on days with no individuals from cruise ships visiting and/or not part of a big group. I am sure you can call ahead to know. I booked through the website and it was easy and quick. No need to pay for a tour company to visit the great hall because the site has its own tour guide. I visited by myself on a Saturday around 2:00 PM and was very lucky to have a tour guide, Heather, just for me. She knew the history of the Great House on the back of her hand and answered all of my questions, including general questions about the island. The site has a bar where you can get refreshments and a souvenir shop.
  • We appreciated the history of the Jamaican sugar production and to reflect on the harsh treatment of enslaved people. The whole story about the white witch, her husbands, lovers, and ultimate demise, was very interesting and left me wanting to know more. The tour guide was professional and funny. I do think it’s an important stop when you’re on the island drinking rum runners and eating jerk chicken. The views are also *beautiful* and you will be sure to get some good snaps.
