  • This flame is kept alight at all times. Other lanterns are lit with this flame to carry the flame, and its message, across the world.

  • This eternal flame will burn forever until all nuclear weapons have been eliminated
  • The flame at the top was lit on August 1, 1964, and has been burning ever since in protest of nuclear weapons, and will continue to burn until there are no nuclear weapons left on earth.
  • Very beautiful! On the way to peace memorial museum.
  • The peace flame is another reminder of the horrors of the war and the atomic bombing. It's inside the Peace Memorial Park and it has an additional angle. The flame will be lit until the world is nuclear free.
  • The flame will burn round the year as long as there are nuclear weapons in the world. The shape of the monument is the hands open to the sky with the flame in between. This is situated at the end of the pond opposite to the memorial Cenotaph.
