  • Un-understandable. We went to the place and it seems they were getting ready for something. There are no signs or anything as to where you are able to go or the exhibitions are. Nobody on the information desk to inform you of anything… ✅ The interior design is really beautiful and interesting 💴🆓 It is free to enter, but I couldn’t find the free exhibitions (they have paid ones too suppously) ⚠️ Difficult to understand anything. Mechanical stairs go up and down and you don’t know where anything is.
  • It was really cool to see the tool exhibition downstairs! I learned how the Japanese people utilized different materials and techniques to weave baskets, carve masks and make tools! Very informative!!! ALSO, it was FREE to go when I went.
  • Really beautiful museum about Kyoto's traditional arts, really deserve a visit. The staff is really nice and you can also try some of the games/arts yourself!
  • Excellent for people interested in traditional crafts in Kyoto, with very complete and helpful explanations in English - which is a bit rare Some of the other comments here make me wonder however if we were seeing the same thing others have seen. One comment indicates that this "is not a museum, everything is for sale". This was not so when we visited (January 2023), for although there was a gift shop, nothing we saw in the museum was for sale. My partner was particularly interested in kimono and fabrics. I was particularly interested in the wood working
  • Small Museum, very informative. They explain the processes well, and you can see many of the crafts found locally in Kyoto. The museum was free when we went there. I would have liked more detail about the history of the handicrafts. Overall, a nice stop.
