Several bridges span the river. Make sure to wander around and visit the little island as well. We saw ducks and a heron on the water.

Uji River ran along the center of city with many tea houses by the riverside. It was one of tourist attraction and recommended to have green tea tasting at one of the shops along the shopping street.
