So privileged to have been able to witness an Olive Ridley Turtle nest relocation to a safer spot. What a dedicated Team Local Ocean Conservation are!

A trip to Local Ocean is definitely a must when visiting Watamu! Not only are they doing a brilliant job protecting the marine ecosystem of Watamu but they are also educating us all on how we can contribute and play our own part. You get to see any rescued sea turtles up close and you learn so much about these amazing creatures and all the hard work that goes into Local Ocean’s By-Catch Rescue & Release Program. If your lucky, you may even be able to help with a release!

Worth a visit love turtles and they have some great eco ideas

Great place to learn of the plight of Turtles. Very educational walk to teach you how to think more about our environment, pollution and mans affects on our planet. It also takes in injured Turtles into its hospital, we saw an unfortunate Olive Ridley female Turtle who floats and can't dive due to a blockage in her guts. Wonderful yet sad to see. You can adopt a Turtle too. Great for children and adults. Donation is required for entry
