Learn about the history of currency and banking at Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, which explores the country's economic development through the ages. Housed within the national bank, the museum introduces visitors to Lithuanian monetary history via a multitude of exhibits and displays. Wander the five different halls spread out over two stories and take advantage of the many interactive terminals (complete with touchscreens), which can give you an electronic overview of topics inside the museum. Follow Lithuania's trials in the Soviet period and its transition to a market economy, and be sure to stop by the exhibit charting Lithuanian currency from the days of the Grand Duchy to the 20th century. At the end you can test your knowledge with a quiz and, if you succeed, you'll win a souvenir banknote with your very own portrait. Not in the strict center but worth to go. You pay nothing to enter. Really modern museum. I love the part downstairs where you can weight yourself and see how much is your value in gold/silver/platinium.

Very interesting museum with information about Lithuania's history in both Lithuanian and English. Besides litas, they also have money from different countries around the world. It's free, and there aren't many people so it was a great experience.

Free entry (just my price point), plenty of information to read up about the history of currency in Lithuania and other parts of the world. Did not expect a coin pressed bookmakr for free, too. Not a big museum, but spent about an hour exploring its 2 levels. Definitely recommended if you've time.

Small but very nice museum. Very unique. The entrance is free. You get free tickets as soon as you go inside. The tour starts from downstairs. There is historical record of money till today. You'll see samples from around the world. Extremely organized museum. The historical descriptions are very informative. I was confused in the beginning but it was more than worth.
