Kedah Paddy Museum, Alor Setar

A great place to learn about paddy and rice. The exhibitions are quite extensive. They have a revolving platform at the top floor with a 360 degrees diorama, which is very beautifully drawn mural. Entrance fee is five ringgit. Located in the middle of paddy fields and walking distance from Mount Keriang, it is very windy. Unfortunately, the day we went the air-con was down and the revolving platform was not working. They have a merchandise store but not much options. Hope the management can rectify this.

Visited on 8 oct. The ticket price for adults is RM5. Surprised with the incredible building structure. Get to know more about paddy agriculture history. Unfortunately they have their air-con maintenance which it's very hot inside. Hope they can upgrade and make it more interesting inside. May play some music for a specific exhibition area. Not really fit my expectations for the price, but still can be an attractive spot for other states people.

Was sold by the idea of 360 panoramic paddy field view. But it was my fault for not reading the fine prints- it is just a 360 painting of paddy filed view. Exhibition could have been more interesting, its too plain. Feels like a painting gallery rather than paddy museum. No toilet inside, only outside right at the exit of the museum.

We were there Sunday, 27/11/22. Paid RM14 for 2 Adults & 2 Kids. The Aircon was not working during my visit hence for the 3 stars. The tower should have been an open concept so that we can view the actual scenery of the paddy field. Instead it was a screen. Good to bring kids so that they learn the process of rice making and appreciate it their entire lives. Small food stall and ice cream food truck available at the carpark area.

Last visit was in 2016. After 6 years there are some upgrade - traditional games area & nice places for photo. The panorama view - platform sometimes move and suddenly halted. Entrance at rm5 for adult and rm2 for children. Lots of parking. Toilet outside the building - inconvenienced.
