Kedah State Museum, Alor Setar

The museum has two floors, the ground floor retains the older exhibits, has a very dim lighting. The upper floor has a more newer exhibitions and environment and well lit. Exhibits are really informative and a lot of new things to learn regarding the history of the state of Kedah. The entrance is free and photography is not allowed inside the museum.

If you want to learn more about Kedah’s history and culture, head to the free Kedah State Museum. Permanent exhibitions cover everything from their ancient civilisations to the Kedah Sultanate and life during the colonial days. Other galleries cover textiles, traditional dances and ethnography. Recommend at least an hour or two to understand more about Kedah.

This museum beyond my expectation. 3 levels with several historical & cultural exhibition. Worth of visit, dan apa yg penting. Free entry!

Spacious! Very nice architecture. 5 floor! Lots of exhibitions. Very comfortable with air conditioning. Best and recommended to visit for those who love museums and history

The Kedah state government must improve their state museum to attract visitors to visit. The enviroment of this museum is very dull and not attractive. The museum cafe is closed and it’s very dirty and full with dried tree leaves.I'm speechless when I entered the museum. Nothing to see. Very limited artifact. Most of the stories from the descriptions can read and google from the internet. I hope the state government will do something about it. The museum should be one of the main tourist attractions but unfortunately it was not interesting at all.
