Monkey Dives Perhentian, Pulau Perhentian Kecil

Family laughter and fun. First I tried Discover scuba diving my first time diving without knowing how to swim imagine how good instructor is and I really see things differently from surface snorkeling . Before you get to the island please bring mosquito spray if you don't want to donate your blood at the ocean night. I came back and did Open water and advanced scuba diver here. Even you are solo traveller you would make a lot of Monkey friends just like you. They have scuba diving packages with accommodation (dorm & private room) with very very cheap and I think it's the cheapest price I see in Malaysia with love. The first place is always come up when I go Perhentian island "Monkey dives" just be like home.

Bought a package on December 2020 paid the deposit to be used for 2021, the island was close whole of 2021 due to lockdown...in 2022, I was not able to travel due to other commitments...I contacted the admin stating that, I am only able to use the package in 2023. they said NO! Unable to extend my package. I asked why, they said management decision. In the receipt it was not stated the validity period for the package! I have a complaint to MOTAC. Incredibly disappointing.

My friend & I stay there 6D5N & took OWD course + 2 fun dives. Me & my friend still will come back here if we come to perhentian. Mostly is due to they really friendly. Pro: 1. Friendly dive instructor & dive master & boat man. 2. Cheap price for cource/fun dives/accomodation 3. Good location. Happening at night. Many restaurant besides. Cons: 1. The room has a lot of mosquito. Although it provided electric mosquito repellents, but due to hot weather, the door is open during day time, so many mosquito come in. 2. The room has a lot of sand in the floor. Many times we saw the staff just change bedsheet, but didnt sweep/vacuum the floor. 3. Monkey dives didnt provide blanket. If you need blanket, you need to rent with them at RM5 with RM25 deposit. Due to 1st night has a lot of mosquito bite us, so we decide rent a blanket to avoid mosquito bite. 4. When we had our OWD course, we didnt complete our Open Water 3 due to instructor canot equalise. We float on the water/surface for 30min. We just learn knowledge, but missed our dive experience. Monkey Dives just do nothing and give excuse that cost for OWD is different, not able compensated/provide is another open water dive. This is the unhappiest part we feel. CHEAP course price, but also CHEAP quality. 5. If you want relax OWD course, I dont think you should choose to take here. Cuz they will try squeeze everything in 3days. Usually the course is 4D. But we complete in 3D (included delayed 1 dive). If we didnt delay 1 dives, it will be complete in 2.5day. Stressful for beginner diver. 6. Toilet very dark during daytime, no sunlight able to come in into toilet. (FYI, only have electric from 7pm-7am). Although many Cons, but we will still come back to Monkey Dives cuz accomodation&fun dive is cheap price, and master are friendly.

Amazing people & a really friendly bunch. Came for a solo trip and met tons of people. Expected it to be a lonely trip but it was an awesome one! Basic dorm but it's okay. Remember to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

A great dive center for obtaining PADI license. I did my Open Water there and I'll be back for sure for my Advanced. People there are amazingly good and helpful. Price is also among the best!
