Bois Cheri Tea Factory and Tea Museum, Bois Cheri

The marvellous place for all kinds of complimentary tasting in a peaceful corner and the tea and rum shop with competitive prices. The factory itself wasn't accessible to tourists and the museum hasn't much to offer but the admission ticket price covers your journey to the tasting lounge and a wonderful day out just wandering around this peaceful place.

Unfortunately, the visit to the tea factory was not worth it at all. The museum is absolutely lousy and you don't learn anything about tea harvesting or processing. There are different machines around without explanations. Everything is totally incoherent. When asked if one could look into the production, no one could really answer if and when, although four women were sitting at the reception. Nobody here seems to know their own processes. The tea tasting takes place by the lake on the premises in a different building. The road to get there is a disaster. Only the view of the lake while tasting is quite nice. The taste of the tea is okay, but not amazing. Many flavors are not implemented by natural ingredients. Overall quite a disappointment, especially for the high asking price. Pity!

The Bois Cheri tea plantation is worth a visit, beautiful setting and gorgeous grounds. They weren’t producing when we went in the off season so we didn’t do the tour but enjoyed the low key & simple tea tasting (of course bought some home with us). The restaurant view overlooking the tea fields was just stunning.

We had a nice tour of the factory where they explained how the tea is being picked, processed, and packed. The restaurant is a few minutes drive away (better to go there by car) and is located within tea fields at the top of the hill with a small lake below. The view is stunning and the tea tasting is included in the price of the tour. They bring you a big pot of hot water and 8-10 different teas to taste - you choose your own and go for it. Great experience!

We visited the museum in Bois Cheri and did a tea tasting. To be honest, the museum did not meet our expectations, there was nothing special... 😕 Then we went for tea tasting at the restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful view next to the lake and tea plantation. 🌱 Many kinds of tea are available on the tables. They bring you hot water for tea tasting. The table and boxes could have been cleaner, there were a lot of flies in the restaurant unfortunately. The hot water got cold after a while, it would be nice to change hot water. Overall a pleasant experience but could be better 😉 My fav tea was Vanilla.👌🏼
